Weight-Loss Jabs, Waist Trainers & the BBL Question
Dr. Akinyi takes the wheel on body image: Ozempic-style injections, waist trainers, cosmetic surgery tourism and how to pick a surgeon who won’t ruin your life.
A Kenyan health podcast · New episodes every other Tuesday
Two surgeons, one mic and zero topics off-limits. We debunk the myths, decode the hospital maze and say the things your aunties only whisper.

Why we’re doing this
We’re tired of seeing patients arrive too late, too scared or too broke because nobody explained things properly. So we’re explaining them. Loudly.
From WhatsApp forwards to “my cousin said”, we take health myths into theatre and operate.
SHA, consent forms, surgery, second opinions. We walk you through the system like a friend who works there.
You leave every episode knowing what to ask, what to watch for and when to stop Googling and go in.

#01
Myth
Piles come from pressure on the veins around the anus, usually from straining, constipation, pregnancy or sitting for long periods. The temperature of the seat has nothing to do with it.

Myth
Less likely, not impossible. Sperm can survive up to five days, and some people ovulate early or have irregular cycles. If you don’t want a baby, use contraception every time.
#03
Myth
The vagina is self-cleaning. Antiseptics and douching kill the good bacteria that protect you, which makes infections like bacterial vaginosis and thrush more likely.
